Malaysia visa for Mexicans: do you need one?
No. Mexicans do not need a visa to visit Malaysia as tourists, but the stay is short: Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) says up to 30 days. Before you go, check that your passport is valid for at least 6 months on arrival and until your trip ends, bring a round-trip ticket and enough money, and fill in the free MDAC arrival card.

Visa rules for a tourist visit
The SRE's travel guide for Malaysia says Mexicans do not need a visa to travel to Malaysia as tourists for a stay of no more than 30 days. The page shows no update date (checked 27 October 2026) and notes that its information is subject to constant change.
On the Malaysian side, Mexico is not on the Immigration Department of Malaysia's list of countries whose citizens must apply for a visa, and you are given a Short Term Social Visit Pass when you arrive. An older document from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA, from around July 2020) lists Mexico among the countries that need a visa for stays of more than 1 month, which matches the SRE.
How long you can stay
Plan for 30 days at most. The SRE says 30 days and the MIDA document says 1 month.
The SRE does not describe extensions. The Immigration Department of Malaysia says an extension may be given only on special consideration, for example illness, an accident or war in your home country, with evidence and a confirmed ticket home or to a third country.
Do not overstay: the SRE warns that overstaying means a fine that can be 10,000 ringgit or more, and prison if you do not pay it.
What to have ready
- Passport: the SRE says it must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival and until the date your trip ends, with at least one blank page for the entry stamp.
- Ticket: the SRE says you need a round-trip ticket.
- Money: the SRE says you must have enough money to pay for your stay, without giving an amount.
- Fees: the SRE lists no visa fee for a tourist stay of up to 30 days, and the MDAC is free.
The arrival form
Mexicans must fill in the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days before arriving. It is mandatory and free on the official Immigration Department of Malaysia website, and we have a separate page that walks you through it.
